Macalaster Bicknell offers a wide selection of storage bottles. Our borosilicate bottles can hold a few milliliters to a couple gallons, and everything in-between.

Serum Glass Bottles

A serum glass bottle is most often used to store contents that require protection from outside contamination. The bottles typically have a short neck, narrow mouth and a round shoulder design. Similar to our other high tech glassware products, our serum glass bottles are made from borosilicate. This type of glass is made from boron trioxide and silica. It has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, as well as a high resistance to chemicals, heat and shock. Our serum glass bottles are clear, but some can be tinted amber or blue to protect light-sensitive chemicals from UV rays.

Our serum glass bottles meet all United States Pharmacopoeia requirements and can be used in medical institutions, industrial applications, research labs and academic settings. We offer serum glass bottles in two sizes: 4000mL and 9000mL.

Media Bottles

Media bottles are used to store and mix solutions. Although they can be formed from plastic, our media bottles are made of borosilicate, similar to our serum glass bottles. The bottle’s shape can vary in size from cylindrical with a rounded shoulder, to square shapes for efficient storage and grip. Autoclavable caps or stoppers assist in stopping spills and evaporation. The bottles can also feature a narrow mouth for superior substance control, or a wide mouth for easy pouring.

Reagent Bottles

Reagent bottles are also referred to as media bottles because they serve similar purposes. We offer six sizes of reagent bottles ranging from 125mL to 2000mL.

Solution Bottles

Our stock of solution bottles is comprised of some of the largest storage bottles available through Macalaster Bicknell. The bottles are ideal for storing distilled water or standard solutions. The neck is tooled for increased mechanical strength and to accommodate universal stoppers. We offer solution bottles in 2.5 gallon, 3.5 gallon, 5 gallon and 12 gallon sizes.
